contemporary poetry is mostly boring. every poet believes they are slightly better than everyone in any given magazine they read, and though theyll have a hard time publishing in that magazine, its probably because they are, in fact, better. It is this homogenizing force that keeps poets selling their poetry to each other, keeps us fighting for table scraps until someone with tenure dies.
